Virat Kohli is more than a young man in the reckoning now. Kohli has made a name for himself in the 2014-15 series in Australia very well. But, the previous tour to Australia was also eventful. Not just the test matches but the ODI series too. Despite the Indians not qualifying for the final, the Indians kept themselves alive with a trouncing win over Sri Lanka.
Dilshan and Sangakkara had combined well on a placid pitch to score a hefty total for Sri Lanka. To stay in the qualification for finals, India had to get 320 by 40 overs. Kohli started where Sehwag, Tendulkar had left to power the chase against the likes of Malinga and Kulasekara. This was Kohli's ninth century but gave him enough confidence to repeat the heroics against many more rival teams in the next few years.
