Win #34 - 2007 World Cup high

There was just one high for India during the 2007 World Cup - their win against lowly Bermuda after scoring their all-time highest total. The match started off with a quiet moment for Bob Woolmer but the Indian team's morale was also quite low otherwise (Greg Chappell and his conflicts within the dressing room). The batting lineup was shuffled so much that one wondered whether anyone got the slot they preferred - Sehwag came one-drop while Sachin was low down the order.

In this match that was a misfit, the Indians started strong and finished even better. Sehwag scored a century but even when he was gone, Yuvraj and Tendulkar smashed the bowling around to take India to 413. This was India's highest in World Cup matches. With such a steep target and a minnow side opposite, the Indian bowling had a simple proposition ahead of them. The result was a 257 run victory - the largest-ever in ODI matches.

One wished there were more of such wins for the Indian team in this World Cup but it was not meant to be. Rahul Dravid and Greg Chappell would sign off from their positions after the dismal campaign, bringing in the Kirsten and Dhoni era.
